Al Sharpton's Small, Measly Rally

The New York Times previewed today's activities by saying that Glenn Beck and Rev. Al Sharpton Jr. would be "gathering hundreds of thousands of their supporters on the National Mall today for simultaneous rallies."

The NYT got it half-right (that's better than their average!). Glenn Beck has gathered hundreds of thousands, but Al Sharpton has gathered merely "a few hundred" people to a small school near D.C.'s convention center. The mall is a Glenn Beck rally, and there's nary a whiff of any kind of counter-protest, much less a presence from Al Sharpton.

There is no equivalence between these two rallies. That won't stop the MSM from trying to portray them as 'competing' gatherings, though.
