Meanwhile in Texas, agents busted human smugglers who fled upon detection. The vehicle they were using to conduct illegal operations was stolen from San Antonio.

"U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested 10 individuals involved in an alien smuggling attempt and recovered a stolen vehicle north of Laredo, Texas.  The incident occurred late in the afternoon of August 25, when an agent assigned to the Laredo North Station attempted a vehicle stop of a silver pickup truck traveling north on the west access road off Interstate Highway 35 (IH-35) near mile marker 30," U.S. Customs and Border Protection released. "The driver failed to yield and traveled to mile marker 32 before pulling to the side of the road and abandoning the vehicle.  Agents apprehended 10 individuals after they attempted to abscond from the vehicle into the brush.  Immigration checks revealed that the 10 individuals, citizens from Mexico and El Salvador, were in the country illegally.  Record checks on the vehicle revealed that it was reported stolen from San Antonio, Texas."
