If you don't know by now, huckster and conman "attorney" Michael Avenatti has been charged with fraud after allegedly stealing funds from his porn star client Stormy Daniels.
"Federal prosecutors in New York City say Avenatti used a doctored document to divert about $300,000 that Daniels was supposed to get from a book deal, then used the money for personal and business expenses. Only half of that money was paid back, prosecutors said," the AP reported Wednesday.
This is just the latest legal saga for Avenatti, who was indicted yesterday for trying to extort millions of dollars out of Nike. He's also been charged for defrauding other clients and lying about taxes.
While the Nike-related indictment was expected because it mirrors allegations in a criminal complaint executed against Avenatti in March, the claims related to Daniels were brand new.
Avenatti, who last year was mulling a run for the White House, is now charged in three separate federal indictments, including one pending in California related to alleged theft of client funds and other crimes, and faces the possibility of many years in prison if convicted.
But as Avenatti starts to face consequences for his actions, we shouldn't forget who made him famous and gave him "credibility." He was brought to the height of fame by Democrats and their allies in the leftist media. They glorified and amplified him because of his representation of Daniels against President Trump. They wildly cheered on the smearing of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Avenatti accused Kavanaugh of gang rape and other heinous crimes, which the Washington Post reported without evidence. None of it was true, yet other outlets breathlessly repeated the claim.

When the confirmation hearings ended, with Kavanaugh successfully making it to the bench, fawning over Avanetti continued. He was urged to run for president. The View's Ana Navarro said he was "like the Holy Spirit." Co-host Joy Behar said Avenatti was "saving the country."
CNN and MSNBC had him on air hundreds of times.
CNN's @brianstelter regularly hosted Avenatti on his show "Reliable Sources," in case you were wondering whether CNN was a news network or comedic performance art that nobody with a brain would ever take seriously. https://t.co/B2b8h7dcXe

Michael Avenatti got $175 million worth of free airtime from media outlets, despite on-set behavior like this.

This would be a good case for @BrianStelter to analyze next weekend – CNN hosted Avenatti as a guest 74 separate times in 2½ months. https://t.co/FlW3TsleHm
Love him or hate him, @MichaelAvenatti is a master of the media... https://t.co/iAkxcD2iDw

The leftist media built Avenatti and yet, they've been quiet about his legal situation. Not to mention, their complicity in promoting his bogus, smear-filled agenda.
The press promoted this guy with glee & abandon. Even after the nonsense he pulled during the Kavanaugh hearings. Why? Bc he said awful things about Trump, & that’s like catnip to the media. https://t.co/Pq8eVSqZc4
