Trump Doctrine: United States Fully Backs Israel Against Iran's Rocket Attacks

Overnight the Israeli Air Force targeted a number of Iranian military sites in Syria after the regime launched more than 20 rockets at the Jewish State.

The United States is fully backing Israel and condemning Iran's continued aggression, marking a complete shift away from President Obama's policy of "urging Israel to use restraint" while under attack.

"The United States condemns the Iranian regime’s provocative rocket attacks from Syria against Israeli citizens, and we strongly support Israel’s right to act in self-defense.  The Iranian regime’s deployment into Syria of offensive rocket and missile systems aimed at Israel is an unacceptable and highly dangerous development for the entire Middle East," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders released in a statement Thursday morning. "Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) bears full responsibility for the consequences of its reckless actions, and we call on the IRGC and its militant proxies, including Hizballah, to take no further provocative steps."

"The United States also calls on all nations to make clear that the Iranian regime’s actions pose a severe threat to international peace and stability," the statement continues.

Meanwhile, U.S. allies in the region are openly backing Israel's right to defend itself.

"As long as Iran has breached the status quo in the region and has evacuated its troops and missiles, any state in the region, including Israel, is entitled to defend itself by destroying the sources of danger," Bahrain Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa tweeted.
