Carney: This Isn't About Fast and Furious, but Politics

Despite dozens of Democrats planning to vote for contempt tomorrow when charges against Attorney General Eric Holder are taken to the full House floor, White House Press Secretary is calling the entire thing "politics." Carney also says President Obama has "absolute confidence" in his attorney general.

"It's not about Fast and Furious."

Carney mentions Obama assertion of executive priviliege last week. He also mentions that the American people will "understand" that this whole thing is just a distraction. On that note, the vast majority of Americans believe President Obama's assertion of executive privilege in this case was wrong.

The Hill Poll found that likely voters disapproved by an almost 2-to-1 margin of Obama’s assertion of presidential power in the case. Overall, 56 percent of voters disapproved of his action, while only 29 percent approved.
