Jan Brewer: Obama Illegal Immigration Order Pre-Emptive Strike Against SB 1070 Ruling

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, who has been at the forefront in the fight against illegal immigration, is patiently awaiting the Supreme Court's decision on whether or not to uphold SB 1070, which allows local law enforcement officers to ask illegal immigrants for identification after a crime has been committed. In the meantime, Brewer isn't happy about President Obama's illegal immigration amnesty power grab and explained in a press conference last week that not only did Obama sign the order for political reasons, but also to get ahead of the Supreme Court decision should SB 1070 be upheld. Brewer also explained that Obama's order puts further stress on the state, which loses $3 billion per year to illegal immigration costs.

"It is no coincidence that this sweeping policy change was announced less than five months before a presidential election," she said during a late morning press conference.

"Most importantly this unilateral act is a pre-emptive strike against the United States Supreme Court and its decision on Senate Bill 1070, which may come as early as this Monday.

Brewer is right about the order of events here. The border isn't secure and therefore, President Obama just gave the green light for people to come here illegally with their children, wait it out and eventually receive amnesty. Without the borders secure, Obama's order is only a massive magnet for more illegal immigration as our borders remain porous and open.
