Pakistani-Muslim Actress Takes on Muslim Cleric

In an emotional display, Pakistani actress Veena Malik disputes claims from a Muslim cleric that she has shamed her country and Islam. Note how the cleric claims she has shamed all Pakistani's in the name of Islam, acting as a spokesman, that his opinion of her actions represent the opinion of the entire country.

Malik responds by turning the tables, calling out the cleric's hypocrisy by saying:

"As long as you are talking about Islam, you are not allowed to set eyes on me in my present condition."

"Clerics may look at a woman once, but if they look at her a second time, they must be punished. You deserve to be punished because you are not allowed to look at me in this condition. Secondly, if you want to do something about the glory of Islam, you have plenty of opportunities. What are the politicians doing? Bribery, robbery, theft, and killing in the name of Islam. There are many things to talk about. Why Veena Malik [me]. Because Veena Malik [I] is a woman? Because Veena Malik is a soft target for you?"

Sadly, I fear for the life of this woman, as females speaking out against male clerics often results in death and justified as an honor killing.
