Global Warming Conference Starts in Cancun

Global Warming Conference Starts in Cancun
The United Nations Climate Change Conference kicks off today in Cancun, Mexico. The goal? Reducing carbon emissions.

Reducing carbon emissions is a key goal in the latest round of U.N. climate talks beginning Monday in the Mexican coastal resort of Cancun.

Representatives from 194 countries were schedule to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference with negotiators trying to shrink the gap between commitments to reduce carbon emissions made by developed and developing countries, CNN reported.

"We are very proud to be the hosts of an unprecedented effort of the international community to stop the global warming caused by humans," Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa said during the weekend.

Or global warming caused by elitist officials.

I would like to point out the majority of officials in attendance had to fly on an airplane, many of them on private jets, using massive amounts of fossil fuels, to get to this global warming, I mean climate change, or actually "global climate disruption" conference. In addition to flying, they probably drove from the airport in a vehicle, most likely an over-sized SUV, powered by gasoline, to the conference location.

Attendants will no doubt be using computers, which were built with materials mined through the use of large vehicals and machines that require fossil fuels to operate. In addition, those computers must be plugged into the wall for electricity, which is most likely produced by the burning of coal, a fossil fuel. Also, unless this climate change/global warming/global climate disruption conference is taking place outside during the day or in the dark by candlelight, large amounts of electricity will be used to power banquet rooms for presentations on the need to.... reduce the use of electricity and fossil fuels.
