Speaker Boehner: "Trump Reminds Me of Teddy Roosevelt"

During an interview Cincinnati's WCPO, former House Speaker John Boehner gave his opinion on President-elect Donald Trump and life after politics.

Boehner compared Trump to a “larger than life” former President Teddy Roosevelt, and said that on many occasions he played golf with the president-elect.

“I think Donald Trump sees himself larger than life,” Boehner said. “He kind of reminds me of — if you look back through history, he kind of reminds me of Teddy Roosevelt, another guy who saw himself larger than life. But if you look at what Teddy Roosevelt did, he came in to do big things. Donald Trump isn’t there to kind of trim around the edges and occupy the White House.”

"Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. Every morning," Boehner said as he rejoiced in not being involved in the political process anymore.  "Every day I'd watch it and was like, 'Thank God I'm not in the middle of this.'"
