Trump Closing in On Clinton in New Hampshire, Within Margin of Error

Republican nominee Donald Trump is mounting a silent comeback in New Hampshire, a state that has voted Democrat in five out of the last six presidential elections.

The MassINC Polling Group/WBUR-FM poll shows Trump within 3 percentage points (41 Clinton, 38 Trump)
of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.  The poll's margin of error of 4.4 percentage points had Clinton leading by 7 points last month, 42 percent to 35.

The poll was conducted from Oct. 10 to 12 among 501 likely voters, and differs dramatically from national polls.

"In the last couple [of election] cycles, the margin in New Hampshire has been about the same as the margin nationwide, but this poll is a bit divergent from where the national polls have been coming in recently," Steve Koczela, the president of MassINC Polling Group said. "Really, since the first debate, Clinton has widened her lead nationally, but the last couple of phone polls I've seen from New Hampshire, it's been a bit narrower."
