After Returning from Islamic Pilgrimage, 'Clock Boy' is Now Suing Texas School

Ahmed Mohammed, the boy who was arrested after bringing a homemade clock to school that looked like a bomb has sued Texas school officials, citing a civil rights violation.

The lawsuit details numerous incidents where he felt violated.  Apparently he was the target of bullying and that “kids called him Sausage Boy and Bacon Boy because he did not eat pork” but the September 2015 incident involving the clock is the main reason behind the suit.

This follows news last month that Mohammed was returning to Texas from a religious pilgrimage in Qatar because of homesickness.

During his eight months in the Middle East, Mohamed said he visited the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia with his family and enjoyed learning more about Islam at school, where the religion is embedded in the curriculum.

Mohammed intends to finish high school there and go on to study electrical engineering, he said.
