Boris Johnson Will Not Be Prime Minister

Boris Johnson has announced he will not be running in the Conservative Party leadership contest for Prime Minister of Great Britain, a surprising move as many thought he would be the guaranteed victor.

The news comes after Justice Secretary and fellow Brexit campaigner Michael Gove's surprise announcement on Thursday morning that he would run for leader.

"While Johnson is seen by many as the favorite (candidate for prime minister), he has his detractors," said NPR's Lauren Frayer. "An angry crowd booed him Friday morning as he left his north London home."
