Rep. Crenshaw Walks the Walk, Asks For His Pay to Be Withheld During Government Shutdown

After being in office for a week now, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) posted on his official Twitter account that he has asked the chief administrative officer for the House of Representatives to withhold his pay while the partial government shutdown drags on.

The Navy SEAL veteran has voiced his support for funding to go towards a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, which the debate over caused the government to run out of funding in December of 2018.

He maintains a wall is part of the solution to the problem of illegal immigration.

“Dismissing a wall or fence as an ‘ineffective’ or ‘4th century’ solution is an attempt to undermine the plan without providing any logical reasoning,” Crenshaw concluded. “Don’t succumb to lazy arguments. Let’s think this through, and reopen the government with adequate funding for border security.”
