Liberals in Hollywood have a compulsion to ruin anything good and virtuous. It’s an innate desire that they seem completely unable to shake. The latest case of this can be seen in the casting choices for Christopher Nolan’s rendition of The Odyssey.

Elliot Page, more widely known as Ellen Page before she suddenly believed that she was actually a man, will take a starring role of Achilles (you know, one of the most revered warriors in the European mythos) in the film. There are a few other notably odd casting choices as well, like Zendaya being slated to play Athena. Matt Damon will play Odysseus, which I would imagine really only becomes acceptable towards the end of the story. It’ll certainly be a jarring juxtaposition to have Page and Damon on the screen at the same time nonetheless.

Of course, reactions to the news of the cast have been pretty abysmal.

Destruction of history, culture, and strong men is par for the course from Hollywood. For a recent example, look at Ridley Scott’s spin on Napoleon Bonaparte, who he paints as an effeminate cuckold who is only beholden to an unrequited love interest.

It’s time for Hollywood to get back to making movies like Zulu and Lawrence of Arabia.
