Nikki Haley Goes Into A Runoff

Nikki Haley has captured 48.96% of the vote, enough to put her into a runoff with Gresham Barret. The question remains — will Barret call it quits? There's not much of a political argument for it — Democratic nominee Vincent Sheheen doesn't have a chance, so there's no chance of depleting resources for the general election. But it would be a nice display of unity for Barret to give her the nod, especially amidst the sex scandals that have emerged. Nothing like a few of those to get Republicans on the late night talk show comedy circuit.... again.

Meanwhile, in South Carolina, neither Rep. Bob Inglis nor Spartanburg County Solicitor Trey Gowdy captured more than 50% of the race, meaning there will be another primary on June 22.

The Blanche Lincoln / Bill Halter showdown in Arkansas, Lincoln has a slim lead with only 24% of precincts reporting.
