Ambulance Sent To Sen. Byrd's Home

Early this morning, emergency vehicles were sent to the home of Sen. Robert Byrd, (D-W.Va.) the longest serving Senator in U.S. history.

Byrd, 91, has been absent from the Senate for much of the year due to medical ailments, including a 2-month hospitalization for a staph infection. A spokesman blamed today's medical emergency on the Senator "standing up too quickly."

Neighbors said other medical vehicles and personnel had been spotted outside the Senator's home in recent weeks.
