ALERT: Rep. Steve Scalise's Condition Has Been Upgraded to "Serious"

MedStar Washington Hospital issued this update on the condition of Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), who was shot Wednesday morning during practice for the Congressional baseball game.

Congressman Steve Scalise is in serious condition. He underwent another surgery today, but continues to show signs of improvement. He is more responsive, and is speaking with his loved ones. The Scalise family greatly appreciates the outpouring of thoughts and prayers.

The hospital noted that this will be their final update for the weekend.
