Video: CBS News Calls Hillary Out Over 'Anytime, Anywhere' Debate Flip-Flop

As Justin noted earlier, Hillary Clinton's refusal to debate Bernie Sanders ahead of the California primary is the latest entry into her bursting-at-the-seams "political expediency" file -- which The Onion  enjoyably lampoons today. Back when it served her interests in 2008, Hillary was a big believer in the critical importance of being willing to debate all comers, "anytime, anywhere" while seeking "the toughest job in the world." Now that she more or less has the Democratic nomination sewn up, in spite of her ongoing struggles and continued primary losses, she's changed her tune.  Imagine that.  In case you missed it earlier, here's the '08 clip. The first words out of her mouth are "honestly, I just believe..."

CBS News picked up on Clinton's self-interested, slippery standard this morning -- via the Free Beacon:

I'm sure Bernie backers who may be furious over Clinton's hypocritical reversal on this question will at least appreciate her patronizing 'attaboy' for Sanders' adorable willingness to challenge her. Who doesn't love a little condescension?

Yes, if there's anyone who understands the importance of ridding the political system of "unaccountable money" and defeating the scourge of "income inequality," it's this woman.
