MSNBC Suspends Mark Halperin Indefinitely For Calling Obama "A Dick"

This is certainly not a respectful way to talk about any President of the United States, but an indefinite suspension?  Come on.  Watch the outrageously outrageous clip below (and the nearly immediate grovelling apology), and see if you conclude -- as I have -- that the suits overreacted:

Confession: I'm a tad befuddled by MSNBC's standards of decency.  Let's recall a few non-suspendable on air comments:

"Teabaggers."

"Shut the hell up!"

"Republicans want you dead!"

"Mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it."

I suppose teabaggers, Bushitler, right-wingers, and bile-filled bloggers all had it comin'.  Barack Obama, however, is a saintly Democrat.  Shame on you, Mark Halperin.  Shame!  Although I must say, if you go back and watch yesterday's press conference, was Halperin all that far off in his somewhat unparliamentary characterization of the president's tone?
