The Failure of New York Republicans

The Republican party's failure to recruit credible candidates to challenge Democrats in major statewide races is one of the glaring blemishes for the party this year.  If, say, George Pataki had been on the ballot, NY GOPers up and down the ballot would have benefited immensely.  Instead, we've seen Senators Schumer and Gillibrand waltz to re-election, and Andrew Cuomo cleaned up.
