Open Thread: Election Predictions

You've read all the analysis, listened to all the pundits, and scanned the polls.  Here's your chance to don your political prognosticator cap and offer your

predictions for the 2010 midterm elections.

I'll kick things off:

House: GOP gains 53 seats, winning a majority.

Senate: GOP gains 8 seats, flirting with the majority but falling just short.

I've made these predictions publicly on air and in print, so I won't hedge or cheat by upping my House pick-up total to more closely mirror the predictions of some smart folks whose opinions I really respect.  Plus, I'm not sure I really want to.  The last few election cycles have imbued in me such a pessimistic streak, I can't bring myself to expect earth-shatteringly huge gains for the GOP.  I'll believe it if and when I actually see it.  And I just might.

Do I have too little faith?  Are all of the experts completely missing the boat--as they did in 1994?   Are rumors of Democratic ruin greatly exaggerated?

Predictions, please...
