Senate Republicans Burning the Midnight Oil Tonight

A Senate source informs me that upper chamber Republicans will stay up late tonight to demand Congressional action preventing the ruinous Obama tax hikes from taking effect in the midst of a persistent recession:

Republicans are going to use the floor time Democrats have so graciously offered tonight (they say we'll be in until midnight) to talk about how recession tax hikes will make it harder to create jobs.

We will also engage the Conference's 23,000 plus Twitter followers about the Democrats' latest plans to adjourn without stopping the biggest tax hike in American history.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has obstinately refused to schedule a vote on the matter prior to the November elections, despite bipartisan calls for the immediate extension of President Bush's tax relief for all Americans--including the middle class and "the rich." 

(Altogether now: "What Bush tax cuts for the middle class?!")

Expect to hear quite a bit of push back tonight against President Obama's contention that there are "better ways to spend the money" (read: your money) than giving it back to the people who earned it.  Congressional Republicans, joined by dozens of Democrats, stand united against the president's economic illiteracy:
