AR Sen: Razorbacks Throw Flag on Boozman

Former Arkansas Razorbacks football player and Republican Senate nominee John Boozman has pulled an ad off the air after the university objected to his unauthorized use of its logo and stadium:

The commercial proudly displays the Razorback logo, and Razorback Stadium; both items U of A officials say he didn't have permission to use.

University of Arkansas Chancellor G. David Gearhart says, "My first reaction was that it was heavy on the Arkansas Razorback connection and the University and we have had policy for a long time where we have stayed away from any kind of endorsement of political candidates."

The university asked the Boozman campaign to withdraw the ad; they agreed, and released a statement saying, "Although all legal requirements were met, we understand the university's concerns."
Incumbent Democratic Senator Blanche Lincoln may have reacted to the story, but couldn't be heard from way down in her 38-point hole.
