L.A. School Picks Gay Teen As Prom Queen

"It just shows how open-minded our class is."

Prom queen Sergio Garcia

Pope Benedict said the "educational emergency" facing young people today is "moral relativism." Indeed.  Blurring the lines of moral, gender, economic, and religious distinctions seem to be the status quo. There are no right or wrong ways to live; there is no ugly or beautiful; there should be no rich and no poor; two women or two men are just as good as a man and a woman; the list goes on.

Fairfax High School is where this took place; home of the Red Hot Chili Pepper's lead singer Anthony Kiedis and bass player Flea in case you are a fan -- or not. A few blocks from the school is West Hollywood; let's just say the cop cars have huge rainbow stickers on both doors. Not a whole lot of moral leadership in the area unless a moral leader is someone who tolerates people who share their opinions.

If you were to stand outside Fairfax High School, I'm sure you would overhear this modern-day piece of advice: "It's all good." I say, "No good!" We're just trying to "Keep it real." See "reality."
