Surprisingly, Gore's opening remarks were quite pragmatic--taking a more free market line of arguing instead of his usual tactic of beating and shaming opponents with his end-o-times cataclysmic hammer. When challenged by Congressman Joe Barton (R-TX), the Gore we know and love was renewed with fresh talking points and up-to-date ways of shaming and slandering opponents.
