Romney Is Projected Winner in Puerto Rico

CNN has labeled Mitt Romney the projected winner in the Puerto Rico primary. There are 20 delegates to be awarded from the primary today, with an additional three labeled as "unpledged RNC delegates." Both Romney and Santorum spent time in Puerto Rico campaigning.

Romney had more than 50% of the vote, which means he should get all of Sunday's 20 delegates. Romney had 83% of the vote with 20 precincts reporting. Santorum had 8%; Newt Gingrich 2%; and Ron Paul 1%.

The spin from one of Romney's aides, according to Fox News, was that it was a huge loss for Santorum:

"Romney aide Eric Fehrnstrom tweeted a tweak at Santorum, saying that he suffered a "huge loss" in Puerto Rico."

The next contest is Illinois, where Townhall's poll tracker has Romney leading with 38%, while Santorum has 31%. There are 69 delegates at stake there.
