Sarah Palin endorses Rick Perry in what could be a contentious Texas GOP Primary

Texas Republicans could be looking at one of the most contentious GOP Primary fights it has ever seen in 2010 if Kay Bailey Hutchinson indeed throws her hat in the ring and challenges sitting Governor Rick Perry. That being said, Governor Perry picked up what could be a huge endorsement: Sarah Palin.

In an email to the very powerful Texas Federation of Republican Women,  the former Vice Presidential Candidate and a rising star in the GOP wrote "Not every child is born into ideal circumstances, but every life is sacred," adding "Rick Perry knows this – it is at the core of his being." Rick Perry is Pro-Life while  Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson supports abortion rights.

Four years ago, Senator Hutchinson weighed a potential primary fight against Governor Perry before deciding to stay in the U.S. Senate. This time around, she has already announced a Gubernatorial Exploratory Committee and transferred her federal funds to her state account.

More dominoes will fall when, and if, Senator Hutchinson decides to run for the Governorship. Candidates are lining up to replace Texas’ senior senator on both sides of the aisle.
