Candace Owens, once a beacon of truth in the conservative movement, coming to fame during the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020, has continued to fall further and further from the once respected position she maintained. While she has continued to build her brand on baseless conspiracy theories and anti-Semitism in recent years, she has somehow managed to hit a new low and has accused President Trump and his administration of being behind the assassination of Turning Point USA Founder and CEO, Charlie Kirk.
As usual with her fantastical claims, she asserted it without evidence and promised to explain later, in a video posted to X.
"Just really needed to just take a breather, and really process everything that happened with Charlie and what it kind of means in terms of where we are, and I think it is a circumstance where we all, we just know," she began. "We just know that he was truly betrayed in one of the most egregious ways that I think I have ever seen. It has made me lose faith in politics, it has made me fully lose faith in Trump, and just, my heart aches for the fact that he gave so much of his life to Trump and to politics, and they just were like: Nope, that is it, it serves us or doesn't serve us, and we want to move on, and so here is a holiday. Bro, if they try to give me a holiday..."
She went on. "What is it with them giving people a holiday after they kill them? Why is that a thing, you know what I mean?"
Owens then claimed that the government giving someone a holiday and naming a street after them is tantamount to the federal government admitting they murdered that person. She also expressed concern, albeit hypothetically, that Charlie Kirk Blvd might not end up in a desirable part of town.

Owens has become consumed by the allure of “just asking questions” rather than genuinely seeking truth or credible answers. Her so-called questions often function as statements, steering discourse in obvious and dangerous directions without evidence. Since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, that direction has been almost entirely anti-Semitic, as she has repeatedly parroted long-standing anti-Semitic tropes, including those employed by Hitler during his rise to power.
To now blame the Trump administration without evidence in some sort of coordinated hit on Charlie Kirk, the man responsible for Trump's election in 2024, and to do so without evidence, is the height of intellectual fraud. She deserves no further credibility in any of her work and should be considered an embarrassment to political commentators.
Especially as a once-close friend to Charlie Kirk, her claim is unconscionable. Years ago, she could be seen by his side on college campuses, fighting for the truth. Now she is a disgrace to his mission, and worst of all, using his tragic death to peddle fantastical claims she grew in the depths of whatever conscience she has left.
Candace Owens has forgotten her place, her duty, and destroyed the brain conservatives once hoped she had possessed.
Owens has proven to be yet another reason to exercise caution when thrusting rising conservative figures into the limelight of fame. It has obviously corrupted her.
