Lewandowski Announces 'Potential Senate Run' in the Middle of Judiciary Hearing

AP Photo/Jacquelyn Martin

Corey Lewandowski, Donald Trump's former campaign manager, is currently testifying before the House Judiciary Committee. He was called as the first witness in the Democratic-led impeachment hearings. He began his testimony by taking a few jabs at Hillary Clinton and her email scandal, and reminding the panel that the Trump campaign never colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election.

That was when Lewandowski got more tight-lipped. He refused to answer Chairman Jerry Nadler's questions because, he explained, the White House had directed him to avoid answering anything related to his conversations with the president. He was accused by Nadler and other Democrats like Sheila Jackson Lee of "stalling" the proceedings. Others called his performance a "charade."

Then, during an intermission, Lewandowski's Twitter account posted the following message announcing that he's considering a Senate run in New Hampshire against incumbent Jeanne Shaheen.

The campaign website is pretty skeletal at the moment, only displaying a quote from President Trump where he declares, "I think Corey would be fantastic."

What a way - and what a time - to announce.

For those accusing Lewandowski of simply trolling, he posted a follow-up message that suggested he was very serious.
