One American Killed in Barcelona Attack

Fourteen people were killed in the terror attack in Barcelona, Spain Thursday, when a suspect drove a van into a crowd of pedestrians in the popular tourist spot of Las Ramblas. One of the victims was an American, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson confirmed Friday morning.

"We express our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of this individual and the others who have suffered loss of life," Tillerson said.

Five of the suspected terrorists involved in the Barcelona attack were killed in a police shootout Friday. ISIS took responsibility for the carnage.

A separate vehicle attack took place in Cambrils Friday, where one woman was killed and four others were injured.

Catalonia Interior Minister Joaquin Forn has declared three days of national mourning and a moment of silence has been scheduled for Friday.
