See Ya: Senior State Dept Officials Handed In Their Resignations Too

President Trump has several letters of resignation to sift through on his desk. We told you about U.S. Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan’s decision to leave his post. Well, it appears the entire senior management team at the State Department is calling it quits as well.

The departures, first reported by The Washington Post, include Assistant Secretary of State for Administration Joyce Anne Barr, Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Michele Bond and Ambassador Gentry O. Smith, director of the Office of Foreign Missions.

Most notably, however, is the resignation of Patrick Kennedy, the agency’s undersecretary for management, who had a less-than-stellar record of overseeing national security at State. The Washington Examiner provided a list of his past scandals, which included cover-ups, corrupt deals, and more.

This seems like an ideal opportunity to drain the swamp.

We are still waiting on Congress to vote on Trump’s Secretary of State nominee, Rex Tillerson. That could happen next week, according to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's timetable.

While Trump will not be working with many of Obama’s State Department officials, the 45th president did keep dozens of Obama appointees in other agencies.
