Republican Who Led Whitewater Investigation Is Voting for Hillary

No one is surprised anymore by Republicans supporting Hillary Clinton's campaign, but this latest endorsement

is still managing to raise some eyebrows. Michael Chertoff served as George W. Bush's Secretary of Homeland Security, but that's not all. He was also the prosecutor who led the Whitewater investigation into the Clintons' real estate investments.

Why the change of heart? Clinton is the most qualified candidate for the White House and that Whitewater scandal was not as big a deal as he once thought, he argued in an interview with Bloomberg.

“[Clinton] has good judgment and a strategic vision how to deal with the threats that face us,” he added of the Democratic presidential nominee.

“People can go back decades and perhaps criticize some of the judgments that were made. That is very, very insignificant compared to the fundamental issue of how to protect the country.”

Chertoff also said Donald Trump's misplaced loyalties render him unelectable.

Last week, former Republican Sen. John Warner announced he's voting for Clinton too, even appearing at a campaign rally with her vice presidential running mate Sen. Tim Kaine.

Reports (and photographs) indicate that multiple members of the Bush family will also be #withHer in November.
