RNC Reminds Voters Hillary Once Bragged About Being Israel's 'Designated Yeller'

Hillary Clinton offered a surprisingly strong speech at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee on Monday, even criticizing Donald Trump for daring to be neutral on the geographic tension between Israelis and Palestinians. Citing her visits to Israel during her tenure as secretary of state, Clinton argued she has proven she is the most qualified person in the 2016 race to defend Israel’s national security interests.

"I’ve sat in Israeli hospital rooms, holding the hands of men and women whose bodies and lives were torn apart by terrorist bombs. I’ve listened to doctors describe the shrapnel left in a leg, an arm, or even a head. That’s why I feel so strongly that America can’t ever be neutral when it comes to Israel’s security or survival. We can’t be neutral when rockets rain down on residential neighborhoods, when civilians are stabbed in the street, when suicide bombers target the innocent. Some things aren’t negotiable — and anyone who doesn’t understand that has no business being our president."

Clinton said three evolving threats – Iranian aggression, extremism, and the effort to delegitimize Israel – make America’s alliance with Israel “indispensable.”

The Republican National Committee watched her speech and have determined her record does not match up to her lofty rhetoric. For instance, if Clinton is so concerned about Iran’s belligerence, then why did she support the White House’s dangerous nuclear deal with Iran?

“Hillary Clinton’s speech was an attempt to whitewash a record of undermining Israel’s interests when she was Secretary of State. As the chief architect of the Obama administration’s foreign policy, her support for policies like the disastrous Iran nuclear deal and her boasting of being called the Obama administration’s ‘designated yeller’ for Israel calls into question her commitment to our closest ally in the world’s most tumultuous region. One speech cannot mask her fervent criticism of Israeli policy which has eroded diplomatic relations and left our ally further isolated and under threat. Only a Republican president will reverse this administration’s break with Israel and renew a steadfast commitment which has characterized American foreign policy for decades.”

The RNC also sent out a briefing book further proving Clinton is "No Friend of Israel." Voters, they say, have a right to be skeptical as to how she’ll treat our Middle East friend. Clinton’s trips to Israel pale in comparison to several of her preceding secretaries of state. During her tenure, she made only five diplomatic visits to the nation. Clinton also once proudly referred to herself as the “designated yeller” for Israel, referencing the moments she criticized the nation for Jewish settlements in the West Bank. The jockeying for control in the region has often ended in violence. Clinton has accused Israel of a “lack of empathy” and a “lack of generosity” in the bloody border debate.

Does this sound like a commander-in-chief who has Israel’s best interests at heart?
