Given the standoff between Apple and the FBI about national security versus privacy of American citizens in regards to the San Bernardino terrorist’s cell phone, who’s right in the Age of Terror? Gen. Hayden is best known for implementing the Patriot Act and terrorist surveillance program – the precursor to the controversial domestic phone tapping of American citizens, during his time at the NSA and CIA. He has played a consequential role in the early years of the War on Terror and helped implement many of the policies that even the Obama administration is still using, including the use of drones.

During our interview, Gen. Hayden discusses how he started as the equipment manager for the Pittsburgh Steelers and worked his way up to be one of the most consequential figures in American history. Learn more about Gen. Hayden and Playing to the Edge at the Conservative Book Club!
