Ha: Apparently Some in the DNC Want Debbie Wasserman Schultz to 'Go Away'

It does not look all that good over at the DNC. Never mind the tepid level of fundraising, or the divided base, or even the fact that a governor of a state just switched parties--the ghost of former Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz seems to be dragging everyone down. And according to at least one DNC member, people wish she'd just "go away" altogether.

According to Nikki Barnes, the recent scandal concerning Imran Awan, the now-fired former IT aide who was arrested attempting to flee the country, is making the party look bad. Barnes said that Wasserman Schultz's bizarre accusation of "racial profiling" did not make sense, and made it look as though she was hiding something.

“We wish she would go away and stop being so public by doubling down on negative stories,” said Nikki Barnes, a progressive DNC member from Florida, who believes Wasserman Schultz left the national party “in shambles” while chair, culminating with the hack of DNC servers and the release of embarrassing internal emails by WikiLeaks in the 2016 campaign. As for Wasserman Schultz's defense, Barnes said “none of this makes sense. It doesn't sound like racial profiling … there must have been something for her.” (Politico

I mean, this isn't exactly a good thing for either the DNC or Wasserman Schultz. There are serious questions regarding the IT staffer--namely, why was he still on your payroll after everyone else fired him--that can't just be explained away with the "it's all racism!" excuse. The fact that DNC members are publicly speaking out against their former chairwoman seems to indicate that there's more infighting going on behind the scenes. While I'm not sure if it'll escalte to a redux of the 2016 Democratic primary, there seems to be some serious issues.
