Former Indiana Sen. Dan Coats (R) has been tabbed as Donald Trump's Director of National Intelligence, the Associated Press reports on Thursday.

Coats represented Indiana in the Senate from 2011-2017, and also from 1989-1999. In between his time in the Senate, he was the U.S. Ambassador to Germany.
