Facebook CEO To Meet With Conservative Media Figures

After reports from Gizmodo alleged that Facebook was intentionally suppressing conservative news from the "trending" section of the site, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg pledged to meet with "leading conservatives" to smooth out any issues. Now, it looks as though that meeting will be happening on Wednesday.

CNN's S.E. Cupp and The Blaze's Glenn Beck have both confirmed that they will be there. Beck wrote a lengthy note on his Facebook page, saying he thought it would be interesting to "look (Zuckerberg) in the eye" and discuss how the trending feature on the site can work to please everyone across the political spectrum. Cupp stated on her Twitter account that she believes conservatism and Silicon Valley have lots of things in common, and that she looked forward to the meeting.

According to CNN Money, Dana Perino and Arthur Brooks will also be attending.

I'm optimistic about this meeting. Zuckerberg and Facebook seem genuinely willing to address the issue and correct any problems, which should benefit all parties in the end. Facebook's trending section is a surprisingly powerful tool, and it shouldn't be subject to political biases on an apolitical website.
