Antonio Villaraigosa simply declared by fiat -- and political necessity -- that 2/3 of the delegates supported the changes (invoking "Chicago rules," as it were). Listen for yourself . . . the video (and the delegates shouting "no!" and booing the decision) speaks for itself. There is no way that 2/3 of the delegates supported these amendments.
What a public relations debacle for the Democrats. First, they are so tone-deaf, so removed from the heart of this country that they remove the provisions in the first place. Then, enough of them realize it's a PR nightmare, and they try to rectify the situation -- but their efforts to do so only highlight, in a dramatic and telling way, the depth of the animosity on the part of many (though by no means all) Democrats to even a cursory mention of God and pro-Israel language in their party's governing document.
If the GOP had committed an error of this proportion, the MSM would be collectively collapsing on a metaphorical fainting couch before declaring the election effectively over.
This video deserves a great deal of play, and I hope it will receive it. How sad to see a once-great American political party booing even the mention of God and the kind of pro-Israeli foreign policy that has been part of a bipartisan consensus for a long, long time.
