Relaunch: NYT Tries "War on Women" Again
Today's op-ed in The New York Times is another tired effort on the part of a left-wing paper to gain traction against the GOP -- primarily, as the final paragraph gives away -- Mitt Romney.

It trots out the tired old trope that Republicans somehow are waging a "war on women" in large part because of their opposition to the contraceptive mandate in ObamaCare and their reluctance to fund Planned Parenthood.

The incomparable Charlotte Hays does a great job in discussing its overheated assertions; to her analysis, I'd only add that there is something incredibly sexist -- yes, sexist! -- in the Democratic coalition's implicit belief (reflected in this op/ed) that most women care primarily about their reproductive capabilities.

Nominal GDP may already be in recession territory, real unemployment is at a staggering range between 11.3% and 14.9%, the highest number of Americans ever are living in "deep poverty" and a record 1 in 7 Americans are on food stamps.  Yet the NY Times is betting that we all share a preoccupation with . . . abortion and birth control.

Hate to break it to 'em -- but it's that doubtful regular American women, sick of a stalling recovery and an administration that seems strangely impervious to it, share their monomania.
