The Religion of Atheism

Richard Dawkins, one of the world's most famous atheists, has admitted that he cannot be sure that God does not exist.

Kudos to him for his honesty.  But with that concession, isn't he admitting that, like religion, atheism also requires a leap of faith?  In other words, isn't atheism actually just another kind of religion -- except that atheists put themselves, rather than God, in the center of the moral universe?
