Beneath Contempt

What will be interesting is to observe the response of the liberal blogosphere and the media.

To the extent that silence ensues, it will make one thing perfectly clear: The outrage over "hateful speech" in the context of the Gabrielle Giffords shooting was nothing but a political ploy -- a soulless exercise in Machiavellian politics with nothing more elevated than partisan advantage at its core.

And if there is nothing but silence, let us hope that independents -- and all Americans -- are listening closely.  It will be a moment that can impress everyone with the moral bankruptcy permeating the self-appointed ethical arbiters of American political life.
