It's Not Working

The lefty effort to silence, stigmatize and delegitimize conservatives in the wake of the Loughner shooting simply isn't working. According to a USA Today/Gallup poll

53% believe that the whole "civility debate" is just an effort to make conservatives look bad.

Of course, this view is consistent with reality -- Loughner's friend has announced that he had no political affiliations or views -- but it's nonetheless heartening that the rebuttal is getting out there.

The liberals are just angry that they no longer exclusively define and control the terms of debate in this country, and they're grasping at this tragedy as a way to keep their political adversaries from making policy arguments that they, apparently, are unable to refute on the merits.
