Those Roosting Chickens

The problem in abusing one's position when one is at "the top" is that it's harder to operate when things aren't quite so rosy.  Perhaps that's a life lesson President Obama is learning now.

According to Politico, the reason there's been such difficulty scheduling a "summit" between the President and newly-victorious Republicans is because the Republicans remember when he crashed their retreat in January -- ostensibly for dialogue, but then he delivered a made-for-media one-sided lecture that left them feeling sidelined and unheard.

The whole debacle is emblematic of the President's problems.  He acted arrogant and operated only for his own (media) advantage when he had "all" the power, and now -- to put it in terms the Rev. Jeremiah Wright would understand -- the chickens are coming home to roost.
