Michelle Obama thinks being America’s First Lady is ‘hell’, Carla Bruni reveals today in a wildly indiscreet new book.

Miss Bruni reveals that Mrs Obama replied when asked about her position as the U.S. president’s wife: ‘Don’t ask! It’s hell. I can’t stand it!’

Does it seem likely that Carla Bruni would simply make up such a comment?  Not to me . . .

As for Michelle Obama characterizing her service as First Lady as "hell" -- well, I'm sure many Americans would agree with her, at least to the extent that her serving as First Lady isn't thrilling them, either.

I guess the big house, servants, fancy trips to Spain -- and, oh yes, having the chance to serve your country in a capacity that many would welcome -- are just getting boring for her.
