Left Wing Nuts Welcome

Fresh off his recent love letter to Cuban health care, Michael Moore has now released a film attacking capitalism -- a film that received rapturous approval from what the Washington Post described as " mix of union officials and local lefties."  (His loony-left film is also receiving coverage and reviews that a

mainstream conservative like Mark Levin -- who has recently reached the million-book milestone -- could only dream of.)

Pardon me, but wasn't Moore the one who insinuated that owing to some sinister motive, the bin Laden family was flown out of the US by the US government before 9/11?  Hello -- that's being a truther, folks.  No doubt Van Jones can tell you more about it.

And yet according to the LA Times' Tim Rutten, it's the people opposing the President's policies who are "overpopulated with nuts, fundamentalists and paranoids."

When I see a Republican former president invite a birther or other fringie to a national convention as an honored guest -- as Jimmy Carter did Michael Moore -- then I'll worry.  The difference is that no respectable Republicans are signing on to the fringe theories that have so many in the media in a dither.

At least for now, it appears that "nuts, fundamentalists and paranoids" are free to roam among us -- and even to be celebrated -- as long as they're on the left.
