The video Meredith has posted is appalling -- a must-see.

The officer and the other man insisting that a protestor must put away a picture of President Obama because they're on school grounds have the law completely wrong.  The Supreme Court has allowed schools to limit the First Amendment rights of

students in certain limited circumstances -- but none of those restrictions would apply to a citizen's peaceful protest at a town meeting that happens to be conducted at a public school.  

In Tinker v. Des Moines, the Supreme Court instructed that students do not "shed their constitutional rights when they enter the schoolhouse door."  That principle goes double for law-abiding, tax-paying adults speaking out on political matters of public concern.
