The New York Times covers Joe Biden here -- a quasi-catalog of the gaffes, odd remarks, and overall behavior that renders Biden a less-than-ideal running mate.

But what's remarkable is the affectionate, bemused, casual tone of the report.  Can you imagine what the Times would do to Sarah Palin if she told a reporter that (s)he needed to work on his/her pecs?  Or if she were given to what the Times gently characterizes as "goofy asides"?
