When the Joke's On You

The Telegraph's Tim Shipman picks up on an important development in the presidential race -- people are beginning to laugh at Barack Obama.

Remember all the warnings about how comedians couldn't find a way to make fun at Obama?  Well, not so much anymore.

This shows a shift in the dynamic of the race that isn't particularly positive for Barack.  It signals that people are beginning to be willing to admit they find aspects of his candidacy, policies (and even him, personally!) slightly less-than-perfect.  And what does that mean?  Well, it means that it's increasingly possible to oppose his election without necessarily being deemed an ignorant racist -- contrary to the meme shared so frequently by Obama partisans in the press.

Just to wind up, my favorite of the Obama jokes listed in the Shipman piece, courtesy of Craig Ferguson:

"Barack Obama was in Germany" today, and "he did this speech and 100,000 people showed up. There were so many Germans shouting and screaming that France...surrendered just in case."

Ha ha.  Now that's funny.
