Kudos to Craig Ferguson

Here is footage of Craig Ferguson's performance last night at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, along with a glowing review.

I couldn't agree more.  How refreshing it was to have a comedian who was able to be funny -- very funny -- without vulgarity, coarseness or personal disrespect to those the dinner was honoring.  He was able to tease the powerful, sometimes sharply, without ever going over the line of basic human kindness or good taste.  Remarkable -- someone in show business who is able to joke about America and its institutions while still loving them, openly and unashamedly.

I've never watched his show.  I'm going to start.

I suspect that what he discusses here has a lot to do with why Ferguson is does what he does so brilliantly and, at the same time, with such decency.
