Black Trump Supporters Enthusiastically Explain Why They Support the President

Things are going great for President Donald Trump. Unemployment is at a 50-year low. Hispanics and African Americans have the lowest unemployment on record. Taxes have dropped. We have a new trade deal with China. USMCA is about to come up for a vote. Overall, Americans are feeling fairly confident, especially with a booming economy.

It's hard for Democrats to wrap their heads around the fact that anyone would support the president, let alone minorities who typically vote for the Democratic Party.

Two black supporters, Demetrius and Jason, explained why they backed Trump in 2016 and will again in 2020.

"I believe he’s the best president this country’s ever had," Demetrius said. One of the things he likes the most about Trump is the fact that he "sticks to his word."

"I support the president because I believe in his agenda, both to make and keep America strong. Protect our borders, build the wall, do everything he can to make sure the world respects America again," Jason said.

Demetrius supported Trump back in 2016 and supports him "even more now." Part of that is because presidents, like Barack Obama, said "he was going to do one thing but didn't do it. Our country went so far south. When Trump said he was going to do something, he did it."

These two young men are indicative of the support the president has earned in the black community. Democrats can't argue that Trump's policies are hurting the black and Hispanic communities when more are working and have more money in their pockets to spend on their families.
